Furthermore, through our renowned ‘dentistry while you sleep’ technique we can offer general anaesthesia and sedation for adults and children older than 5 years old. In fact, we are the first Dentistry practice in Queensland to offer this procedure for children!
What is ‘Dentistry While You Sleep’?
‘Dentistry While You Sleep’ enables you to receive the dental care you require; easily, quickly and comfortably. Feeling no pain at all, you will be relaxed and at ease throughout the procedure. You are not unconscious at any time, just in a deeply relaxed state.
These techniques enable patients to undergo complex dental treatments (which often require six to eight appointments) in just one consultation. Depending on your individual needs, Sedation Dentistry may last between 2 to 6 hours.
Candidates for Sedation Dentistry may include those who;
- suffer from a high fear of dental treatment
- hate needles or shots
- hate the noises, smells or tastes associated with dental care
- are afraid or embarrassed by their teeth
- have a strong gag reflex
- require extensive dental work
- have had negative dental experiences
- have very sensitive teeth
- have difficulty achieving a numb sensation
- have limited time to undergo dental restoration
